Is it merely a feeling? an emotion?? just a word?? what??
People from all castes, all groups, all religions, all countries & from all classes experience this 4-lettered word...
It holds so much significance...Strange but True...
A set of people feel that love is sacrifice...where you prioritize the happiness of your loved one...
Another set of people attribute it to a feeling of comfort & pleasure when you are with that special someone...
Some say that it could be Love at first sight...Others believe that it takes time to grow...
And there is yet another group that confuses Love with Lust...
With due respect to all the groups, I feel that love is just being yourself...no changes...no hypocrisy...just care...understanding...& trust... These words are so commonly heard...
Qualities related to care, trust, understanding and the like are so easy to interpret yet so rare in us...
What makes LOVE such an over-hyped topic??
I guess it's the fact that none of us truly understands it's connotation...
Ummm...ya I'm also just trying to apprehend the concept...
Often I hear people say "LOVE IS BLIND"...
I say "LOVE IS BLIND BUT THE LOVER SHOULD NOT BE BLIND"...
Well, that's how the cookie crumbles...love today is not simply "LOVE"... It's governed by zillions of other factors --- parents, society, status, looks ---- to name a few...
So how can a mere feeling compete with all these factors combined together...
Tough...
The path of love is precarious, often dangerous...
But then I'm talking about love, not attraction, lust or mere timepass...
There's lots to say but with so many conflicting thoughts it's best to understand love the way each one of sees it...
By the end of it, it's an individual's perspective which governs the true meaning of anything...
So i'll sign off for now,

ReplyDeleteIt may sound cliché but den we all know "Love can not be defined in words"....coz feelings can never be put down in words .....but at d same if anyone has to put down words to define love then I would summarize it to what you mentioned in your post about love being sacrifice, happiness of the other person..etc...
Love is a fire. But whether it will warm your heart or burn down your house , u can never tell....Strange yet wonderful is d feeling of love(whether it is about loving someone or being loved by someone...its wonderful).
Love teaches you a lot about life....Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage. Its a feeling that nurtures you as a person. True love happens only once rest of the times its jus compromise n we cant spend our lives based on compromise...so we need to understand whether the feeling is true or not .Sad but true ..dat by the time we realize the truth about love we are either married to that person or away from that person...
You may ask "How do we know if we really love a person?" well... I would say
" You know its love wen u all u want is the happiness of the person you love, even though you are not apart of his happiness"......
Wen we are in love we would always overlook petty things and at times even certain facts/ mistakes that may have shaken us up as a person. We do dis only for the simple reason that all true lovers are optimistic and feel that everyone should get a second chance especially their loved ones..( I know many may not agree to wat i am saying ....but wen u really .....really love someone u would definitely give the other person another chance to make up)....No relationship is perfect, ever. There are always some ways you have to bend, to compromise, to give something up in order to gain something greater...love for each other is bigger than these small differences. And that's the key. It's like a big pie chart, and the love in a relationship has to be the biggest piece. Love can make up for a lot....
Its not necessary that all love stories should have a beautiful end.....coz love is unending ...its mystical...its magical ..... It goes on even wen people decide to move on n go seperate ways. Even wen they go away from each other they would still have a beautiful n a unnamed bond between them. Love never dies coz as I said ..people in love are optimistic and always wish for a beautiful world..strange yet wonderful ...confused yet enlightens.....
Love is a journey & True Love is a dream.. So the choice is yours whether u want to spend ur life searching for true love or jus truly love the person you are with. As someone rightly said "We waste time looking for the perfect lover, instead of creating the perfect love".
That's why I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.
